Though many of us think that green building and green restoration fundamentally benefit the environment, there’s really much more to them. Green builders are ardent on exclaiming that their efforts are engineered to create shelter that is’s good for folks, good for the planet, and good for the economy.

Green home building and transforming are great for people because they result in more healthy and more comfortable houses. They also are excellent for us because they produce less pollution, protecting air we breathe and the water we drink. As a effect green enhancements help to cut the possibility of contracting diseases due to pollution like lung cancer and asthma.

Green DIY can lead to far less resource complete approach to life. Easing our obligation for vital resources guarantees future generations an opportunity to meet their wishes and live a good life, too. Green rebuilding is also good for employees in factories that produce building products as well as those that install them as it is dependent on materials that are made without damaging chemicals Green building is good for the economy, too.

On a personal level, green enhancements can help owners and renters lower their gas and electric bills, saving major amounts, regularly straight away. Energy conservation and green energy measures supply a protection against inflation due to rising fuel costs.

Some enhancements, like water deficient showerheads and toilets help us reduce our water and sewer bills too. All of these business benefits aid in making our lives more cost-effective as energy and water costs rise, green home enhancements also increase the value and appeal of our homes. Green home projects provide community wide benefits. They create roles and new business possibilities for builders and contractors, and investment opportunities that help in promoting a strong and healthy economy which helps us all.

While the import of defending our health and controlling routine costs can’t be overstated, a first reason for green home enhancements is naturally that they are glorious for the environment. By providing the efficient use of natural resources and the employment of replaceable resources, these measures help stop the eradication of the habitats of wildlife.

Green do it yourself also makes a contribution to a higher level of environmental stewardship, helping make a fitter world not only for folk but for the millions of species that share the planet with us. Environmental protection efforts help preserve the more required resources we depend on – the air we breathe and the water we drink. Actually, then, green do-it-yourself is the final form of self protection helping to guarantee a good life now and into the future.

Water is in fact, one of the five basic elements of nature and a basic necessity of life. Can we imagine a life without water? The answer must be a big “No”. The Governments are spending billions of dollars to locate water on other planets. It has become so scarce in some countries that they are charging for even small quantities of water. We need not wonder if there is going to be a world war for water in a few years. 3/4th of our planet contains water. Of this 97% of water is present in oceans and seas which cannot be used for drinking or for other domestic purposes. 2% of water is in the form of glaciers. Henceforth, only 1% water is in human usable form and there is a real requirement to save money on water.

We are wasting a lot of water though we are aware of all these facts. According to a survey, if no measure is taken to save water now, there would not be any water after 50 years.

What was the amount spent on water by all the people till now and what would be amount that they are going to spend in the future? It must be such a big amount that no one can estimate. Doesn’t it tell you something? Yes, there is really a requirement to save money on your energy bills. There are several tips available, which would help you to save water to a great extent and save the environment too.

The most obvious and important tip can be easily guessed. It is nothing but using less water whenever it is possible. We know that water is generally used in huge quantities in bathroom and also kitchen. The plumbing equipment must be checked regularly and if there is any breakage or if they are not in good condition, they must be repaired as soon as possible. If you are planning to travel to a different place, make a thorough check of the plumbing equipment. This does make sense as huge amount of water would be lost if there is a damage or leakage in plumbing equipment like pipes and taps.

Brushing teeth and shaving, as we know are two activities that consume huge amounts of water. This is one of the main reasons for huge loss of water but we know that they cannot be neglected. Taps and pipes are often left open by most of the people while brushing or shaving. This must be taken care of by putting a check on the taps and by using them only when are in need.

Frequent showering should be avoided and also the length of shower must be kept in control. Try to avoid high flow showers which can help to save money on water.

You can save money on your energy bills associated with laundry by doing it at night. It may not sound ideal but you can do it if you are really desperate to save money on your energy bills. Have a control on the size of the load to prevent laundering that is not necessary.

These are the important tips which can help you save money on water. You are not benefiting yourself but you are helping everyone by saving the environment. Water and energy are mutually dependent. If you are saving water, it implies you are saving water resources that generate electricity. It may not be a huge contribution but if every individual follows them, the result is definitely big. Millions of kilo watts of energy can be saved if these tips are followed by each and everyone in this world.

Earth4Energy is an online video series that teaches you step-by-step how to make solar panel and your own windmill for just $125. Compared to the windmills you are able to buy in storehouses, Earth4Energy windmills are extremely inexpensive.

Solar electricity and range factories arrangements established up by pro corporations typically take an investment funds of $ 3,000 or more. The give back on this investment is obvious only later on some years.

Michael Harvey, the author, has been working with renewable energy technologies for more than fifteen years, has made his vast knowledge available in the form of an ebook. The content is based on Michaels personal experiences with employing renewable energy systems.

Solar power is becoming cheaper and democratic, because the cost of the equipment has become comparable with other sources of energy. Investing in solar energy now, when the stock market is very low, can increase your chances for higher returns once the market is no more volatile and unpredictable.

Earth4Energy is one of the finest products that have been introduced to assist each day people like you and I save money on energy prices, and help save the environment, as well. Anyone can use the detailed guide and videos to learn how to make solar panel and windmills to help reduce, or even eliminate, their energy costs.

Wind energy is one of the most democratic energy technologies. Opinion surveys regularly show that just over 8 out of 10 people are in favour of wind power, and less than 1 in 10 (around 5%) are against it. Windmills eliminate the dependence on power plants and the government for electricity. With a windmill in your land, you have your own power station for life.

Free electricity for your home sounds great doesn’t it? With the Magniwork system, you can get a little closer to just that. The system offers very easy to follow plans to build your very own magnetic electricity generator. The small device can be made by anyone with the right tools, even if you have little to no experience in constructing such things.

The device only cost me $120 to build and i bet i can get that cost down by sourcing the parts to get a better price. With one of these contraptions i can power half of my home, so with two i can power almost the whole house eliminating the need to pay power bills all the time!

You can get the materials you need to build a magnetic perpetual motion device from almost any hardware store like Home Depot. You do not even need any special tools, you most likely have what you need already, a screwdriver for example.

Using a magnetic generator has distinct benefits over the utilization of other alternative power sources like solar or wind energy. The major benefit is that magnetic energy isn’t relying on weather, where as a cloudy day can eliminate solar electricity. Another advantage is cost. Sun and wind systems are sometimes very costly to install, while the Magniwork system is awfully inexpensive!

Based mostly on the experience I had building my magnetic energy generator, I might suggest the plans to anybody looking to cut their electrical bill, or looking to help the environment! Magnetic energy is turning out to be one of the number 1 sources of alternative green energy!

Never pay for electricity again, a long kept secret for generating free electricity has been finally released to the public. The Magniwork System will show you how it’s possible for you to build you own Magnetic Energy Generator. You can generate your own electricity and you may never need to pay the Power Company ever again!

With the economy crisis going on, everybody needs to do their part to help keep family budgets in check. But, in addition to helping to save a family’s finances, every should also work together to help to save our environment. Kids can play a large role in a family’s ability to successfully do both.

When we teach our children to take care of our planet, we are giving them the valuable information that they will need for helping to preserve our world. An important lesson that we are all learning because of this economy crisis is to limit waste, and that includes wasting our money. By being a little more conscientious and doing some basic stuff around the house, you and your children could see how saving, cost-cutting, recycling and reusing, can help to increase your family’s budget. Try these 5 simple tips in your family:

Do have the kids use rechargeable batteries or solar powered chargers for handheld games and small electronics. Your family could see an instant saving. Costs for replacing batteries can be astronomical when you sum up all of the batteries that you need to supply energy to the gobs of gadgets that your kids probably have. If there is not a USB charger available, which allows you to charge stuff directly from the computer, then find and use alternative energy sources such as rechargeable batteries and solar powered chargers. Regular batteries wreak havoc on the environment. So, using an alternative energy source saves the world and it saves you lots of money from not having to continuously buy batteries.

Do teach the kids to conserve water, especially during this economy crisis. Your children could save your family a mint just by minimizing their water consumption. Set a time limit for showers and encourage children to turn the water off while they are brushing their teeth. These little changes could have a huge impact on your family’s water bill and could also help with our environment.

Get creative with conservation. Catch that excess shower water and the free rainwater into a container that you can buy for cheap. Then, use that water for all types of stuff that doesn’t require sparkling fresh water like watering your plants. It’s important to find alternative uses and ways to get the most out of our natural resources. But, it’s also great saving on the water bill in the process.

Do teach the kids to enjoy and take full advantage of sunlight. Tell them to turn off the lights when they are not using a room and to open the blinds or curtains to let the sunlight in. Sunlight is a free energy and light source. Learning to use and appreciate it now could make a difference as your child gets older in the way that they view energy. This economy crisis is making it important for all of us to take a different approach with certain things in our lives. The energy that your family saves by not running the electric lights all day could result in a much lower energy bill, which means more money left over in your family’s household budget! Plus, less energy consumption is very important for our environment.

Make frugal recipes a family mainstay. Buy for cheap produce and dairy from your local farmers market to support local business and help our environment at the same times. Most farmers markets have organic foods which means that they do not use those pesticides that are harmful to the environment. Yet, by planning your family’s meals with frugal recipes and these fresh veggies and fruits that you can buy for cheap, you will also be helping your family’s food budget . So, buy local to save.

There are many ways for families to help our planet and help their budgets. These little changes in their daily habits can lead to big changes in the way that they live and think about our world. Your little ones can make a big difference environmentally and in helping your family to get through this economy crisis.

by Wade Butler

A lot of people are talking about reusable water bottles lately. In the last several years, it’s become extremely common to drink bottled water – it’s just easier, some people believe it’s better for you, and often restaurants don’t provide an alternative. But bottled water comes with it’s own share of problems. After all, a lot of bottles are used to contain it, and only two out of ten are ever recycled – the rest end up in landfills or on the side of the road.

Plus, studies have shown that bottled water neither tastes better nor is any healthier than tap water. In fact, a lot of bottled water companies are just bottling city water from elsewhere in the United States – Dasani and Aquafina are both just filtered tap water. In recent lab tests at the University of New Hampshire, no bottled water samples were found to be any purer than water from a drinking fountain in the middle of New York City, and in a blind taste test, many people who claimed to dislike tap water actually ranked it pretty highly. Add that to the seventeen million barrels of oil used for making water bottles every year – enough to keep a million cars running for the same period of time – and it’s clear why more people are deciding to use reusable water bottles for their hydration needs.

A reusable bottle can be filled at home and transported, and refilled just about everywhere. It’ll save you money, too. After all, the mythical eight glasses a day will cost about fifty cents a year from the tap, and closer to one-and-a-half thousand dollars if you decide you want to drink only bottled water. That makes a twenty-dollar water bottle look a lot more affordable! There’s shipping, processing, and refrigeration to consider, too. Bottled water requires all of these, adding even more to its carbon footprint, while a bottle you fill up at home has only one manufacturing trail to deal with. Since you reuse it again and again, it justifies itself quickly.

Don’t just rush out and buy the first water bottle you see, however. Eco friendly water bottles come in a number of different materials and styles, and some are better than others. The most popular materials are plastics (several different kinds), stainless steel and aluminum. Polycarbonate used to be the leader, but new health concerns over Bisphenol A – a component of this plastic – are leading lots of people to choose other plastics instead. HDPE, or number 2 plastic, is a better choice for people who are concerned about this material, which has already been banned in baby bottles in Canada, and in other products in some other countries. BPA may lead to an elevated risk for heart attacks and diabetes, and is a real worry for some.

Aluminum bottles may also be an issue – some are lined with polycarbonate and remain a BPA risk. Others are not, so you’ll need to find out which you’re getting when you decide to buy a reusable water bottle. Stainless steel eco friendly water bottles are the most expensive, but they’re also the most durable and the least worrisome from a health perspective, so they’ve been getting a boost. The downside? They’re opaque, making it hard to tell how full the bottle is.

No matter which you choose, there’s a clear answer when it comes to reusable water bottles versus disposable. Bottled water isn’t healthier, less expensive, safer, or easier on the environment, so why choose it? It’s far easier to carry eco friendly water bottles and fill up at the nearest tap.

Wind power electricity is generated on wind farms scattered across the pastoral lands of the United States. In a time when increasing dependence on foreign oil is wreaking havoc on politics as usual, wind power is gaining more attention for its promise of energy independence.

The world’s largest wind power farm is located in the United States, in the State of Texas. The Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center is the largest in the world with over 420 wind turbines. Experts maintain that the Horse Hollow Wind Energy Center can produce enough electricity to power over 200,000 homes annually. Once the energy is produced, federal, state and local governments are more than happy to buy to produced energy. Wind power electricity is not the only solution to the energy problem. Because wind is an intermittent power source it needs to be combined with other power sources like solar and even gas or coal.

Wind power electricity is already a major component of energy plans worldwide. Australia currently has 42 wind farms with the largest, Lake Bonney Wind Farm producing over 230 MW of energy. Other countries with wind farms under construction include India, the Philippines, the EU, Brazil, and Morocco.

The major difference with wind power and gas or coal based power is in the funding and operation of the initiatives. Most wind farms are privately owned by entrepreneurs and venture capitalists. While the wind farm owners receive tax breaks for producing clean energy, the money generally has to come from a private source for start up and maintenance costs.

A sizeable amount of the world’s energy can come from wind power electricity. Energy production has been focuses on oil for obvious economical and political purposes. With the world in a recession combining wind energy with other alternative sources is going to save money, the planet and create jobs.

Alternative energy enthusiasts and activists are investing in small wind turbines to fuel their homes, schools, and businesses. As more and more people explore alternative energy solutions such as wind power electricity, look for favorable government loans, tax rebates and credits to benefit those willing to participating in alternative energy programs.

The power of wind energy has to be viewed on a micro and macro scale. It is easy to assume that a few massive wind farms would generate all of our power electricity. However, that is not at all where the success of wind farms lie. Many smaller organizations are installing wind turbines and generating enough energy to cover their energy needs and selling the excess energy back to the power companies.

Have you thought about lately why Solar lights are one of the growing trends in outdoor and indoor lighting? Yes! They’ve got a number of advantages, and you may have seen your neighbors buying or having them installed. better yet, new technologies have made possible their manufacture to the point where they’re small and unobtrusive, and are much more attractive than they once were.

How do they function? They are lights that are powered by solar cells; most of them will use a low energy lighting element, like an LED or a compact fluorescent, to let the light run from the battery for as long as possible. What sizes have you seen lately? They’re maybe the size of a coffee cup for the entire unit, including the photovoltaic collector on the top. They’ve also come down in price as making them more affordable than ever before.

Have you taken a closer look at them? ( call it a sneak preview of your neighbors yard) A typical solar light setup will have the bulb enclosed in a white or clear plastic case. There may be a case with the solar panels on the individual lights, or they may run on a string to a solar panel that’s put somewhere unobtrusive. The good news is either of these methods can get the solar lights to work anywhere around your house. None the less, you must want the solar panel facing the sun, so generally towards the south in the US. Most will run for about 4 to 5 hours off of a charge in the daytime, some can last longer. It depends on how much power they’ve accumulated during the day.

A great number of people are buying these lights this summer for numerous reasons. Solar lights do not ever use power from the grid making it a cost free way to light your gardens, pathways and lawns. They also are rather convenient and can be placed almost anywhere provided there’s sunlight shinning through. Aside from this, the fact that they don’t drain power from the grid means there’s more power to go around for things like air conditioning. Not deprived use of our electrical gadgets due to cost of electricity is very important during the summer months especially for those of us who have health issues.

Have you taking a look at your neighbors homes at night lately? People’s homes are looking more tasteful with the new solar lights nowadays. Another drive in the minds of buyers is the stated fact that they aren’t as big or bulky as they use to be. They also look a lot better cosmetically and can blend in with almost any scenery. They come in a many defferent colors and compliment gardens, and the flower arrangements very well. They also work well with porches and decks.

For many of us with some measure of artistic ability, this can make for some interesting creative combinations of outdoor displays decorations with beautiful lights. Well, of course if you are strictly using them to light up your pathways and for security flood light illuminations, thats great as well. Yes! you c use them as security devices and hook them up to a motion sensor. This will light up an area where any motion is detected. Nice way to keep burglars away.

Considering the fact that home improvement budgets have been slashed with the current economic downturn, these lights have proven to be the exception to the rule – they are beautiful, elegant, affordable and, flexible. Moreover, they allow home owners to express their creativity on a tight budget. They also don’t have recurring costs in the form of ongoing electric bills. Many home owner have considered them to be the harbinger of things to come for self powered home improvement.

Indeed, Solar lights are a great cost effective way to add charm to the look of your home and garden. They’re small, affordable, and can be bought in stages to improve the house, and they’re low maintenance and unobtrusive. They also look elegant when used with complementary backgrounds.

Most people are more than a little aware of the electricity crisis that we`re facing at the moment. The thought of wind and solar energy has surely been around for a long time and some people have even made use of it on a quite small scale. Nevertheless, it may just be time to begin thinking big with these alternative forms of power.

Turning to Renewable Energy Sources

Even if we continue to use fossil fuels, there are so many downsides to this. While it`s anticipated that we still have some time left on the existing fuels, they will ultimately run out. They are a limited resource that we`ll surely use up. At the moment, we are accessing the simplest sources, but soon, more labor will be needed to get to the other areas that can supply us with this type of fuel.

In addition, fossil fuels are a chief issue in the current state of the ecosystem. Whether or not you believe in global warming, there is definitely an effect on the world from the huge amount of pollutants being created by power use around the world.

There is also the financial factor to think about. Everybody was recently taken aback with just how high gas prices went around the globe. While they have stabilized a little, the cost of energy can only go up as fossil fuels become scarcer. All this leads to the benefits of wind and solar power, both outstanding alternative electricity sources that could well end the power crisis.

Why Wind AND Solar Power?

Quite simply, it`s pretty hard to get the amount of energy necessary from just one type of collector. For example, if we use only solar panels . . . what happens when we have an extended cloudy period? And similarly, if using only wind, what happens when it dies down? It`s forever good to have backup systems in place and wind and solar electrcity work very well together.

At the moment, wind energy in the United States creates enough power to energy approximately 2 million homes. Studies have shown that it`s more than possible to provide for the electricity needs of the entire nation using just wind power, which is also the most efficient and easily used alternative electrcity source.

Solar energy is very practical, but it is also still fairly expensive to install solar panels. While this will likely drop as the research and knowledge get better, for the moment, it`s cost prohibitive (and space prohibitive!) to use solar panels to provide the entire nation with power. However, many areas are doing very well with solar electrcity, mainly those in the sunnier parts of the country and with the mixture of solar and wind, you can see that there is an alternative to the petroleum products currently being used.

Harnessing the Energy

More and more individuals are opting to add solar panels to their homes, saving on power bills and lowering their overall electricity use rate. However, in order to really generate a dent in the electricity crisis, we`ll need more than just people working on the crisis. With cooperation, it`s possible for entire towns and even cities to run entirely on alternative power sources, like those we`ve been discussing here. Picture the impact this could have on the ecosystem, as well as our everyday lives.

Solar and wind electrcity are the future of energy sources. Together, they provide the chance that we need to escape from the ever rising cost of fossil fuels and give us a cleaner, safer and cheaper electricity.
