An ink cartridge, or inkjet cartridge, is a replaceable piece of an ink jet printer that contains the ink. Each ink cartridge contains one or more divided ink reservoirs.

Replacing an ink jet can be expensive, especially if you do a lot of printing. Fortunately, many manufacturers have developed refillable ink for ink cartridges. Often people can save up to 50% or more over a replacement cartridge. Ink jet refill kits contain easy to use tools and instructions for refilling an ink cartridge.

The following are general instructions to putting ink in a printer cartridge:

1. Buy an ink refill kit at an office supply store, computer store, or department store.

2. Gather all of the materials you will need to refill the cartridge. This can include: syringe, latex gloves, and paper towel

3. Remove the empty cartridge from the printer. Depending on what type of printer you have, there may be a particular method of cartridge removal. Refer to your printer manual on how to refill a unique type of ink cartridge.

4. Place the empty cartridge on a piece of paper towel.

5. Find the fill holes on the top of the cartridge by sliding your finger across the label.

6. Use a pencil or tooth pick to puncture the refill holes in the top of the ink cartridge.

7. Insert the long needle of the syringe on the refill ink bottle into the correct hole.

8. Little by little, add the ink. It is important to make sure that you do not over-fill. It is usually 10 cc for black ink and about 5 to 8 cc for colored ink.

9. Stop when you observe ink coming out of the hole. Remove the needle from the hole after expelling any remaining ink.

10. Carefully pat the cartridge contacts on the paper towel to observe a spot of ink leaking out.

11. Cover the hole with a tiny piece of clear tape. Make sure you do not transfer the colors.

Repeat steps for each ink color. There are three colors of ink: magenta, cyan, and yellow. Follow the instructions on which hole to insert each color or push a toothpick into the holes to ascertain the colors as the markings on the printer cartridge

12. Put the ink cartridge back into the printer.

13. Leave the ink cartridge in the printer for about 12 hours before using it. This will permit the sponge inside the cartridge to become uniformly soaked with the ink.

14. Print several test pages to make sure the ink is running.

There are a number of different methods to refilling printer cartridges. The benefits of refilling include that they are much cheaper than replacing a used cartridge with a brand new cartridge, and they help keep ink out of the environment which is toxic to the soil. You also will help reduce the amount of garbage going into the landfill. The next time your ink cartridge runs out of ink, consider purchasing an ink refill kit.

Essential oils are used in perfumes, bath products, creams, body lotions, massage oils and in aromatherapy. The oils are used for promoting physical and mental health as well as to improve aroma. Most formulas require just a couple of drops.

Essential oils are extracted from flowers and plants. Making essential oils involves the use of special equipment. There are a number of methods used to extract the oil that include:

Steam Distillation: Fresh plants are placed in a still. Steam is sent into a lower chamber of the still and sent through the plant ingredients to vaporize the oils in the plant material. The blend of steam and oil then goes through a condenser. The essential oil is extracted from the floral water in the separator. Some plants contain aromatic compounds that remain in the water that is left over after distillation. This water, known as hydrosols, is used by Aromatherapists in products such as cosmetics as a skin moisturizer.

Expression: This extraction method involves pressing the plants skins, seeds, and flesh. It is most often used when extracting citrus peels.

Cold Pressing: This form of extraction is another method of removing oils from fruit. The process involves rolling the fruit between spiked protuberances which penetrate the peel. The squeezing will extract the juices that hold the essential oil. The juice is then put through a centrifuge in order to separate the oil from the juice.

Enfleurage: Flower blossoms are placed on sheets of warm vegetable fat that absorb the oil from the flowers. The fat is separated out with solvents, leaving just the essential oil. It is a lengthy and expensive method of essential oil extraction.

Solvents: This method of extraction is not popular with all-natural Aromatherapists because it involves the use of manmade chemicals. The plant is dissolved in a solvent such as chlorure of methylene, benzene, and hexane. A device is used to extract the essential oil from the evaporated material. The oils extracted are known as “absolutes.”

Carbon Dioxide Extraction: A high pressure is obtained by pumping the gas carbon dioxide into a chamber containing the plant matter. As the pressure increases, the gas becomes a liquid and works as a solvent. The new solvent is then passed into another chamber where the pressure is released. The carbon dioxide solvent vaporizes leaving behind the essential oil. This method is used only for expensive oils because the process is costly.

Learning what oil and fragrance best suits your needs will help achieve optimum health results. Essential oils provide a number of benefits such as alleviate pain, promote relaxation, relieve tension, act as a natural insect repellent, contains anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory properties, stimulates digestion, alleviate respiratory systems, detoxifies the air, improve mental function, and promotes healthy skin. The essential oil is a very tiny part of the flower or plant. Many plants are needed to create a small amount of oil. Depending on how the essential oil is produced, it can have an impact on the concentration and quality of the oil.

Essential oils are a popular natural health product that is quickly gaining worldwide recognition.

There is some debate over whether or not cleaning the air ducts in your home is necessary. Most people don’t run into problems with their air ducts, but if there is a malfunction in your duct system or someone in your home has allergies, it can be a good idea to get them cleaned. It is extremely difficult for a person without the proper training to clean their own air ducts. As such, most people decide to hire a professional service for the job. As with any major repair job, it is important to choose a company that is reliable, knowledgeable and affordable.

The first step in your search for a good air duct cleaning company is simply to identify air duct cleaning companies in your local area. Depending on where you live, there may not be any nearby, so you may need to find one that is willing to make a trip. If you are lucky enough to have multiple companies that can do the job nearby, then it’s time to start looking at prices. It’s wise to get an idea about what sort of costs you should expect to pay to have your duct-work cleaned before you make any calls. The average amount for a duct cleaning will vary depending on the amount of duct-work to be cleaned and the level of service provided by the company. The average cost for cleaning your air ducts is between $500 and $1,000, though it can go higher or lower. You can call the various companies in your area and get rough estimates for how much they will charge. Some companies may also have websites that can provide estimates.

It is recommended that you get an on-site, written estimate by having the company visit your home before they start working. Then, you can ask them to show you the trouble spots in your air ducts that really need cleaning. If they can’t identify these spots and justify the cost of the cleaning, then you probably want to try another company or reconsider the cleaning entirely.

Now that you have gotten a better idea of what an air duct cleaning can do for you, it’s important to establish whether or not they can actually deliver on their promises. You may be able to ask the company for references from previous jobs that they’ve completed successfully. You might also be able to find reviews or testimonials online that can give you a better idea if the company does a good job and does it quickly.

Once you have checked out the duct cleaning companies credentials and reliability, then it is time to make your final choice. If the company charges by the hour, make sure that you get a written contract with them stating how long the job should take. You don’t want the cleaners to be able to stall to try and get more money. Once you’ve drawn up an agreement that works for both party, your work is done and it’s up to the cleaners to do their job.How to Select an Air Duct Cleaning Company

A good facial moisturizer is an important tool in a good skin care regimen. However, like any tool, if they arent used properly then they arent much good at all. You might think that all there is to the proper use of skin moisturizers is simply applying it to your face after you wash, or when youre experiencing discomfort from dry skin. That covers the basics, but to really get the most out of a facial moisturizer, you have to know how to optimize its use.

The basic function of a facial moisturizer is to retain moisture in the outer layers of skin. Normally, any moisture evaporates from the skin quite quickly, which can leave it dry. This problem usually gets worse as people get older. A good moisturizer will keep the moisture in, making dry or aged skin feeling smooth to the touch, and looking a lot nicer too. The ingredients in the moisturizer do most of the work, but there are things that we can do when we apply moisturizer to help it work to its fullest potential.

The first useful tip is to always use your moisturizer right after you finished cleaning you face, while the skin is still damp. Remember that a moisturizer works to lock in water, which it cant do especially well if theres nothing to lock in. After a washing, your will have a good amount of moisture to seal in. If you opt to use toner on your face as well, you shouldnt wipe it off before moisturizing. Apply the moisturizer while the toner is still damp and it will help to seal in the beneficial ingredients in the toner. Remember that the key word is damp – if you try to apply moisturizer when the face is still sopping wet, it will simply drip right off.

Next, pay attention to where you’re moisturizing. You would think that facial moisturizers would be usable on the entire face, but thats not exactly accurate. In particular, you should avoid moisturizing around the eyes. The skin that surrounds the eyes is somewhat different when compared to the skin from other areas of the face. Facial moisturizers may be too potent and can lead to irritation and other problems if used on the eyes. They make specific creams for the eyes, and those are what should be used.

You also might think that theyd only be useful on the face, but thats also incorrect. For instance, the neck area can benefit from the application of facial moisturizer. Start at the base and apply the moisturizer in broad upward strokes. A lot of people dont consider the effect that the neck has on their overall appearance, but a neck with bad skin can look very unappealing.

A final tip: while you should apply face moisturizer to a damp face, you should let the moisturizer dry completely before applying any cosmetic foundation. Otherwise, it can become very runny or get completely ruined.

These tips arent exactly life changing, but they do show you a few ways that you can better use your facial moisturizer.

Long and curly hair is a very popular hair style. As most people growing this type of hair will find out, it requires special care to make it manageable and eye-catching. Curly and long hair is most susceptible to breakage and split ends. They are also more prone to damage because the ends of the hair tend to be finer than short and straight hair. Special products should be used to maintain quality hair health. One method of maintaining healthy long and curly hair is to use a natural shampoo.

In order to keep healthy long and curly hair, use a natural shampoo that contains organic ingredients. Manufactured shampoo contains harsh chemicals and additives that can dry the hair and cause the hair to break. A natural shampoo contains all-natural chemical free ingredients such as vitamins and minerals, and natural moisturizers such as aloe, lemon, Shea butter, lavender water, ylang ylang, coconut oil, lavender essential oils, organic tea tree oil, and soy protein. Ingredients will vary depending upon which brand and type of natural shampoo that you purchase. These ingredients nourish and protect the hair from damage. The all-natural ingredients will reduce frizzy hair and leave the hair soft and shiny. As well, the natural ingredients alleviate inflamed cells of the scalp. The natural blend of essential plant extract oils penetrates the hair root follicles allowing oxygen to stimulate new hair growth.

Natural shampoos are much milder that manufactured shampoos because they contain 100% natural ingredients with no harsh synthetic additives. They moisturize the scalp with natural ingredients that will keep the skin hydrated and the hair follicles nourished. The enhanced moisturizing properties of the natural oils and minerals, as well as the plant and herb extracts, all work to promote healthy hair growth. The stimulating and nourishing ingredients are designed to penetrate the scalp where the root grows, and provide much needed essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, to the hair and scalp. This helps increase the thickness of hair strands and makes the hair stronger.

Natural shampoo will transform fine, dry, and brittle hair into full, shiny, and soft hair. As well, it stimulates the hair follicles to produce thicker and stronger hair. The strength and suppleness of the hair is restored providing a stronger, softer, shinier and healthier looking hair. The healing process of using a natural shampoo consists of gently cleaning, repairing, and rejuvenating damaged and fine hair.

Curly hair and long hair is often dry because the natural oils that are produced by the scalp have difficulty getting down the hair shafts. The best protection is a natural moisturizing hair shampoo. This will help keep the hair hydrated, healthy, and more manageable. Natural shampoo dose not contain any harsh detergents, synthetic preservatives, alcohol, or petrochemicals which can all damage the hair. Natural shampoos contain nutrient-rich botanical extracts and nourishing vitamins that leave hair soft and healthy. When you use natural shampoos, you are not only nourishing and protecting your hair, but you are also keeping harmful substances from being released into the environment.

Office furniture forms an indispensable part of the office interior, and it must be in harmony with the office design.

by Maristela Barker

The office interior is incomplete without office furniture, and the latter should be in tune with the overall office design. The office furniture should also follow the rules of ergonomics so as to make sure that employees can go on making use of them for extended durations without any health hazards.

An average employee spends a significant part of his day at the workplace, so he faces the risk of serious health issues if he or she has to sit in an uncomfortable posture or stoop over his desk during work. Thus it is necessary that office furniture, particularly the office chairs used by staff, must be ergonomically designed.

Any buy of office chairs should be made only after making sure of a few things. You should make sure that the chosen office chairs are steady, portable and optimally adjustable. The arm rests of chairs must fulfil their utility well, and the height should be changeable so that the occupant can adjust the chair according to his body comfort. The chair must enable easy mobility of limbs so that there are no hurdles for the worker while he or she is engaged in work. The back support is the most critical component of an office chair. It should be optimally curved and padded to give the back and spine maximum support and comfort when seated.

The second most important component of office furniture is office desks. Desks should be of a standard height and must have enough space on top to enable employees to perform both computer and writing jobs with ease. Small office desks are very uncomfortable and force the employee to take awkward sitting positions that may cause painful cramps and back pain.

Office ergonomics is incomplete without careful consideration of the exact placements of office furniture. There ought to be sufficient free space between the cubicles so that employees and bulky goods both get enough space to move, without disrupting the work of seated employees.

Good office ergonomics make sure not only a fit workforce but a happier and more efficient one as well. An ergonomic workplace promotes better work management and organization among staff and also makes work a relaxed and stress free experience for them.

Office design must always be such that the physical discomfort is ideally zero or at least minimised for the employees. The office interior must facilitate healthy working conditions where a worker can go about his or her work without having to face any problems, so that his contribution to the success of the business can be maximized.

More people are learning about the health hazards associated with too much sun exposure. Over exposure to the sun and its harmful UV rays can result in premature aging, skin cancer (particularly melanoma,) wrinkles, severe burns, age spots, and the proliferation of moles which can be an indicator of developing cancer in the future. Research has also shown that excessive exposure to UV radiation may impede the body’s immune system. Avoiding hazardous UV rays is essential to preventing skin damage. Protection from UV rays has made the use of sunscreen more important than ever.

Continuous exposure to sun rays will increase skin damage, whether or not one gets a sun burn. Applying sunscreen daily when you are outside will help reduce the chances of acquire serious skin damage. It will keep your skin smooth, soft, and retain its young appearance. Sunscreen will keep skin moisturized and prevent it from drying out and becoming chapped and rough. It should be used during all seasons, even the winter months.

Because of the various skin types, the rate at which the sun burns the skin will vary among people. To achieve the best sunscreen protection, it is important to understand how sunscreen works. The FDA labels sunscreens as over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. Sunscreens are labeled with SPF numbers. SPF is an abbreviation for Sun Protection Factor. The Sun Protection Factor (SPF) is the relation of the time it takes to cause skin redness that is coated by sunscreen to the time redness is created without using sunscreen. There are two major types of UV sun damage.

Sunburn that is associated with the shorter ultraviolet wavelengths is known as ultraviolet B. Longer sun wavelengths, known as ultraviolet A, penetrate deeper skin tissue. The higher the SPF number, the more sunburn protection the wearer will receive. The usefulness of a sunscreen is greatly diminished if it is not applied in sufficient amounts, or if it comes off due to perspiration, washing, and other methods that cause it to be removed from the skin. For best sun protection, apply a generous amount of sunscreen and reapply when necessary.

Most experts recommend that for basic sun protection, one should use a sunscreen that has an SPF 15 or higher. It should also protect against both rays. All skin types will burn, however, people with lighter skin who burn easily should use a higher SPF sunscreen. One should also use a water resistant sunscreen when swimming.

It is no longer tanning in the backyard, at the beach, or swimming outdoors, where people should use sunscreen. It should be applied when spending any length of time outdoors. Parents should especially protect their children to avoid future diseases such as melanoma.

Use a broad spectrum sunscreen with SPF 15 or greater to receive basic sun protection. Depending on how sensitive your skin is, you may also want to use a chemical-free sunscreen.

Our skin is the organ that protects the rest of the body structures. It is important that we take care of it. Wearing sunscreen is an important way of maintaining good skin health.

A ‘turkle’ is a slight mispronunciation of the word turtle by a hearing impaired boy in a movie called ‘Turkles’. The type of ‘turtle’ in the film is a ‘Dermochelys Criacea’, otherwise known as the Leatherback Turtle. Leatherbacks are the fastest reptiles in water, reaching the recorded speed of 9.8 meters per second, according to the ‘Guinness Book of Records’. Adults average one to two meters in length and weigh between 250 to 700 kilograms. The largest Leatherback ever found was over three meters long and weighed 916 kilograms.

Leatherbacks range from Alaska to the Antarctic Ocean. They consume mostly jellyfish but at times will feed on tunicates and cephalopods. These turtles enter the world as eggs buried beneath a sandy beach along with approximately a 100 siblings. When the time is right, they exit their soft shells, climb up through the sand and make their way to the sea, dodging a host of predators such as birds, crustaceans, other reptiles and people. Fifteen hundred adult females are caught in fishing nets every year.

At the end of the nesting season, the large number of hatchlings can overcome depletion from predators. However, many cultures around the world believe that turtle eggs are an aphrodisiac. Another problem that depletes the Leatherback population is intestinal blockage. The turtles eat plastic bags and balloons that resemble their natural food.

A horrible fact is that in 1980 the nesting female Leatherback population was an estimated 115,000. Today the estimate is 26,000 to 43,000. Throughout the world the Leatherback population is declining much faster that other fragile creatures.

The harming or killing of Leatherback turtles was made illegal by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Flora and Fauna but these laws are not being respected. Please investigate this issue further and pass on the information to interested individuals in your community.

Time is of the essence!

Organic bedding is so important for babies and toddlers. This is a time when their immune systems need the most support.
Organic bedding is so important for babies and toddlers. This is a time when their immune systems need the most support. Many children develop allergies this early in life because parents are not aware of the detrimental impact that toxic fibers make. Remember that babies spend most of their time on sheets and crib liners, breathing in linen fibers.

Always choose organic cotton and wool for your home, especially for those sleep times. Studies prove optimal sleeping conditions require breathable surfaces. Only organic bedding and natural sleepwear can provide that; in fact, recovering patients are far more comfortable, and heal better with non-toxic and chemical free organic bedding.

From the foods we eat to the linens we sleep on and the clothes we wear we want the highest result possible. It isn’t possible to be healthy while eating foods derived from abused animals, nor can we sleep on bedding created with chemically grown and sprayed elements. Those items are toxic

It isn’t possible to be healthy while eating foods derived from abused animals, nor can we sleep on bedding created with chemically grown and sprayed elements. Those items are toxic.

Be part of that huge and conscious movement now taking place that demands intelligent and conscientious care of animals and plants used for all uses. Once consumers rise up and demand that growers stop the use of pesticides and contaminants, they will be forced to provide what shoppers ask for. Believe me, they want you to buy from them. Soon organic prices will be reduced because people will search for easier and economical ways to grow without pesticides. A new era is emerging; be a part of that.
