The Benefits of Halogen Lights Over Traditional Bulbs

Halogen lamps are ideal for most lighting scenarios, whether it’s just to provide general lighting, or for accenting. It is clearly definable by its pearl-essence and it’s particularly lively illumination. It provides a rich light to promote a creative and stimulating work place.

Another benefit of halogen lights is that they allow you to create your own light settings as they come with or without reflectors and in a variety of sizes and colours.

The actual function of the halogen within the bulb is to stop particles from the filament darkening the inside of the bulb. The filament inside the bulbs is usually made of tungsten, which, although it retains its strength at extremely high temperatures and has the second highest melting point of all known elements, (carbon has the highest, but it is non-metallic and provides poor illumination) it still slightly decays radioactively.

This evaporation would cause the small atoms of tungsten that separate themselves from the filament to build up on the inside of the glass if it werent for the halogen gas filling the bulb. The atoms of halogen gas collide with the freed tungsten atoms sending them back to join up with the filament again, resulting in a much more durable light bulb.

Colours beneath halogen light look fresher with an attractive sheen radiated by the highly reflective lamp surface. Common applications such as retail fashion shops or hotels find that halogen lamps are perfect for rich colours, a pleasant ambiance and a sparkling light.

Halogen lighting allows for plenty of bright, soft, sparkling light to be spread over a wide area, or sharp thin beams to create accents.

As halogen lamps have a slightly higher colour temperature, they emit a far fresher and cleaner light than the old incandescent light bulbs.

So if you want to light up an area with a bright pearl-essence that you cant achieve with traditional light bulbs, than halogen lights are a clear choice.
