How Green Cleaning Services Affect Worker Productivity
To ensure that office buildings are clean and inviting, commercial cleaning companies are more often using green cleaning products and solutions to contribute to worker productivity.
It is hard to tell but if you look around the office and note the absences, how many, do you suppose, were from illness caused by viral or allergic reactions in the work place? The only remedy is prevention so taking precautions is a wise step.
Frequently, the causes are bacterial or viral contaminants. But remember that allergic reactions to dust and dirt or, worse, cleaning chemicals are not our of the question. Sometimes the medicine, in this case cleaning products, is worse than the sickness.
But though cleanliness is absolutely necessary to ensure healthy workers, strong allergy producing chemicals are not.
According to a survey, conducted in 2003, 3 in 10 workers lost productivity due to illness. The evidence is building that they are staying home more because of a toxic work environment. This work, by the Commonwealth Fund, clearly supports that allergic reactions may cause losses in productivity.
Cleaning agents work on bacteria and even some viruses because they are chemical – usually bleach or ammonia. Of the two causes of allergies, dust mites and chemicals, the easier one to cure is the latter.
The alternatives are purely botanical and water based. Disinfectants can be oxygen or orange oil based. Citric acid has been proved to be an effective cleaner and disinfectant ” It is safe and the bonus is that it leaves commercial office spaces smelling great.
Keep your workers safe, secure, and allergy free and they will reward you more productivity and profit.
