Biodiesel the Wave of the Future

Biodiesel expansion is a perfect solution to the world’s energy concerns, in theory. However, there is much more research to be done. The U. S. And many other countries rely on other countries to provide most of the fuel which they use. This along with concerns regarding the results of the long term use of fossil fuel, causes the country to strive towards developing alternative fuel choices.

Fuel costs have reached an all-time high. This is another reason that alternatives are being searched out. Many people struggle just to feed their families. The extra added costs for fuel has had a serious negative effect on many families. People have great concerns regarding the greenhouse effect and the long-term affects of the use of fossil fuels.

Who would not be happy to hear that a renewable fuel had been invented, which took advantage of the natural resources which are available to us? Ethanol has come about as the result of this type of thinking. This will certainly lead to many more ideas in the future.

Unlike fossil fuel, ethanol is a natural fuel which is made from mainly corn and corn bi-products. This is a product which can be used over and over again. Who ever imagined that their used cooking oil could become so valuable? This seems to be a perfect solution, right? That may not be the case. It seems that there is much more work to be done in order to perfect this process.

The problem is that research has shown that the process of refining and preparing these oils in order to be used in the typical manner, may in fact create more pollution than that of fossil fuel. The dedication of many food crops for the purpose of creating ethanol has also been blamed for rising food costs globally. The experts claim that ethanol made from corn reduces green house gas emissions by 16%. This is not a large enough percentage to make the current ethanol a great choice for reducing the “greenhouse affect”. More still needs to be done.

The experts at bio diesel development continue in their endeavor to perfect this process, in order to make it more environmentally friendly. New techniques and innovations are being tested on a daily basis. Even the US government and many of the world’s governments have become involved in the search for renewable green energy.

Corn base ethanol has opened the door to the future when it comes to renewable energy. As a result, algae, soy beans and many other “plant matter” are being used in the production of bio diesel. There are certainly many new green bio diesel ideas on the horizon.

With the amount of work that is being done today, we can expect to have a future where green choices are mainstream. This certainly will open the door to the use of water power, wind power, solar power, and any other natural resource being considered before one has been traditionally used.
